I'm pretty bored today so thought I'd put a half-assed update on here...
The MOT (UK version of a Shaken, but not as strict) ran out a couple of weeks before xmas so I took it to a friends workshop to do some little bits before the test. That plan lasted about 2 minutes once I had the car on a ramp! haha
Sitting in a box I had PSM knuckles, tein tie rods and ends (do Tein work with knuckles?), rack bushes, ARB droplinks, traction arms, R33 rear hubs, Roll centre correction lower arms(rear), PSM subframe risers, repainted subframe, new brake lines, tension rods AND pillowball front lower arms. Obviously that was all too tempting so i started ripping my car apart:D
A final look at the crusty old subframe and the crusty shell its attachd to:(
My intention was to wire brush the underbody and put some underseal on there but its alot worse than I though. For now it can carry on rusting and maybe over the summer I'll look for a clean shell
Partly back together, I got the rear all finished but forgot to take any more pics, now my mate who owns the workshop is on holiday for a week so I'm stuck at home doing nothing. booooo.
woohoo! not aligned yet as Tein inner tie rods are too short, got some offset rack spacers though so should free up a couple more degrees (it JUST goes overcentre now). The guy who did the welding used to fabricate the knuckles for the Hyundai WRC team, he promised the knuckle itself would break before his welding! Hopefully drive it early next week....
