We are currently developing another specialty item for lowered cars from Parts Shop MAX.As an alternative to 8 piece subframe spacers which stiffen the OEM bushing, and the 8 piece solid subframe bushings currently available now, we will offer a 4 piece set of subframe solid risers made of CNC aluminum. The subframe risers slip in similarly to (but easier than) solid bushing set which requires the OEM bushings to be torched, cut or pressed out as seen below. One piece will slip into each corner, installed from the bottom because the top of our solid part is flush with the top of the subframe itself without any collar or protrusions which will press the subframe to the chassis, up about a half inch from its previous position to assist proper geometry in lowered cars while stiffening the chassis better than other options available today. We are targeting the $100 price point, we'll see if its possible when production is complete. Some shots of the OEM bushing removal that you could do in your garage. If you can manage to get it pressed out its cleaner! We took the liberty of gusseting some suspension mounting points, and adding a sexy color to the subframe while it was out. CAD drawing of the part being produced now:I'll be sure to post updates after install and testing!

cool. so how much higher did you end up getting the subframe to sit compared to stock? And what was the reason for having a large amount of the metal hanging out the bottom?

Its about a half inch higher. The larger than stock amount of material on the bottom is there because it maintains the oem overall height which allows the front chassis brackets to bolt on flat. In other words whatever we took off the top we put back into the bottom.beforeafter

the benefit of raising it is: basically since our cars are slammed, Matt and I were trying to think of wayys to correct the geometry in the rear. You can get custom rear knuckles that make everything mount lower making all the arms straight but they are expensive and hard to find. This helps with that and if you do both the risers and the knuckles it'll be as if your car isnt even lowered. pretty cool. And the solidness keeps slop out of the chassis.

None of the testing cars have roll center adjusters. Here is the final production version of the MAX Solid Subframe Risers track tested and in production NOW.Alot of people think you need a press to do this but its near impossible because the thin metal on the subframe around the outside of each bushing will easily become distorted. You can do it with an air saw, you poke the sawblade in the cavity in the OEM bushing and cut a slit in the outer ring OF THE BUSHING being careful not to cut the subframe ring. It helps to saw a little from the top side and a little from the bottom side. Once the slit is cut shove a big flat head screw driver in there and once the tension of the bushing's outer ring is compromised, it just pops right out. To prepare for the epoxy you want to sand the surface. Mix epoxy - When you buy some the thicker viscosity the better. The brand and type are not important as long as it is made to bond to metal. The Risers slip right in by hand and are secured permanently with epoxyYou have to beat the unibody here... especially if you dont have MAX GII camber arms. You also have to redo the e-brake cable routing bracket. With this second version of the solid riser the bottom part is half as thick so you can slice off the extra threads that are no longer needed so you have more dirt drop ground clearance in case your wheel slips off the track. The half thickness in the bottom part of the rizer also really helps if you are trying to use a straight toe rod on a really low car. Of course if you are on top of your game you already have the MAX GII bent toe rod = ) We should have these on or around march 25th you can pre order now if you wish to reserve a set They are only $100 plus shipping for a set of 4.

ok so these are super awesome!my car felt really good at top drift this weekend.2 events ago i broke my drivers side axle (twice), so two of em in one eventthis event i didnt even break a boot because the max subframe risers help with the axle angle as you can see in the photo. they also help with suspension geometry as you can see in the photo as well if you look at my LCA and stuff.some other cool things that you wouldnt think of till they are on- they allow you to make your exhaust higher by the diff which if youre low is a very weak point on the exhaust. also, it physically makes your subframe higher in your car, which helps for bottoming out ur subframe. ive cracked my subframe twice before so this is a major issue and a good thing to help.one thing that wasnt expected is it changed my wheel fitment, since the LCA is so angled up, naturally when you lessen that angle it pushed the wheel out, about 5mm on my setup.overall these are super awesome, install is pretty easy just takes a few hours even if you dont have crazy tools/shop.do it!

the only good RCA's that i've found are moonface and are hard to get/really expensive. And as low as my car is, it still wouldnt put it back to stock geometry. Also, RCA's only correct the lower control arms so u'd still have to deal with everything else. the subframe risers correct everything that is attached to the rear subframe.

Now my (Megan) RUCA's are against the frame of the car, so there is no travel anymore. I had to raise my car about 2 inches to correct this( car looks fucking retarded at the current height now). Also whenever you mentioned rerouteing the brake cable, where and how exactly did you do this. Because I cannot figure it out. My drive shaft now rubs against the brackets and basically wont move now. Ugh.

I haven't tried reattaching my ebrake cables yet so I don't have any advice for that, but I cut out the area on the body where the camber arm goes. I just cut the lip out with an angle grinder about 2" wide.I actually noticed that on my drivers side I had smashed the RUCA into that pinch weld on a off road excursion - which explains why I've broken two cheap RUCAs on that side...I've since replaced them with quality pieces and have had no issues. My forward drivers side subframe bolt was tweaked too...I remember what wheel drop that must have been - I bent it back and all seems fine now.

So I did a little test after I put everything back in to see how far the rucas would have to travel before they hit. With my current setup there is no way they will touch the frame rails. This is on 15s. This is way lower than my coils will even go; I'd be almost happy with that fitment on 17s.Getting MAX coils & rucas when they get their next shipment, so I'll see if i'll have to hammer anything after putting those on. Hoping the max rucas will clear no matter what.

Just curious, i noticed at the beginning of this topic the subframe solid risers (the silver non colored version) appeared to give a larger lift than the final product version(the sexy gold color version). Is there a reason that the amount of lift was reduced, or does it just look like the first version of the product gave a larger lift than the final product?

Thanks, but im looking for a more exact answer. My alignment guy is only there on certain days. So I kinda need to know the how the fitrment on the car is going to change, and how bad its going to to be to drive on it till I can get it aligned.I meant if its 1 degree then Im not worried. But if its 3 degrees then I need to plan how to adjust the rear fitment accordingly. Thanks for any help offered.
